Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she received the Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney was raised with four brothers. While she was a small girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. But in highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. As a teenager, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies and dramas after that. As with her professional career but her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past and has been through two failed marriages. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
